from the Old Norse “Æinriði”

“aina” (one, alone, unique)

“ráð” (advice, counsel, decision)

or “ríða” (to ride)

Contact. Follow. Train.

Stop guessing.Train with purpose.

Every rider is different, so every training plan should be too.

Whether you're working towards your first CAT licence, helping your junior reach the next level, or preparing for a big sportive or charity ride,

I'll build a plan around your goals, your life and the time you have available.

Book a free 30-minute chat. No sales pitch - just a relaxed conversation about your goals and how we can get you there.

A conversation, not a sales pitch (Free 30-minute call)

We'll talk about your goals, your current training, and the challenges you're facing.

I'll give you honest advice, answer your questions and help you understand what's realistic.

You'll leave the conversation with more clarity and a plan for your next steps - whether you decide to work with me or not.

A plan built around your life, not a generic template

Together we'll set out your target races, events or challenges, agree the level of support that fits your budget and time (from a bespoke 12–16 week block to an ongoing monthly programme), and get you set up on TrainingPeaks.

Know your numbers

Before we prescribe a single session, we test. Heart rate and power benchmarking means every session that follows is set at the right level for your body — not a guess, not a generic zone chart copied from the internet.

Training that fits around real life

Your sessions land in TrainingPeaks and sync straight to your Garmin or Wahoo. Work trip come up? Kid's ill? Legs not there today? We adjust — training plans should bend to your life, not the other way round.

You always know if it's working

Regular review means you're never left wondering whether the plan is doing its job. I'll break down your data in plain English and flag early if something needs to change — no jargon, no guesswork.

About me

I'm Chris, a British Cycling Level 3 coach based in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

I've spent years on both riding and coaching.

In recent years I've taken on many personal challenges, from multi-day self-supported gravel adventures, and the Spring Classics, to riding many of the cols in the Alps.

I coach the way I'd want to be coached: honest feedback, a plan that respects your life outside the bike, and enough understanding of why we're doing something that you stay motivated when the darker, colder months hit.

What that means for you:

  • Level 3 (Plan & Prescribe) and Road Discipline qualified - so your programme is built on proper sports science, not guesswork.
  • TrainingPeaks University accredited and an experienced WKO5 user — I can actually explain your data to you, not just hand you a chart.
  • DBS-checked and British Cycling Safeguarding accredited, and a current Wilderness First Aid holder — important if your junior is training with me, or we're heading somewhere remote.
  • A volunteer British Cycling coach for young racers competing across Yorkshire, nationally, and at UCI European events — I know exactly what it takes to develop a young rider properly, without burning them out.
